Kara graduated from Daemen College with a Master’s of Science in Nursing, and is an ANCC board certified Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Originally from the Buffalo area, she moved to California with her husband for several years but quickly realized that the Buffalo community simply cannot be replicated, prompting them to return home to plant permanent roots. Kara has spent the majority of her career in critical care, including the Emergency Department at Buffalo General Hospital and ECMC, as well as the medical ICU at Stanford Hospital. After spending nearly a decade in critical care, she realized that her true passion lies in forming deep connections with her patients while helping them make lifestyle choices and changes that will leave a lasting, positive impact on their futures. This inspired her to pursue training through the Institute for Functional Medicine, and now she applies both conventional and functional medicine practices with her patients. She strongly believes that taking an integrative approach to health can improve wellness and longevity.
